NORWEGIAN LANDSCAPES - 150 years ago

Knud Knudsen (1832-1915) was the first photographer to travel all over Norway taking photographs. He was active between 1862 to 1900 and his photographs being among the first to be taken in Norway. He portrayed landscape and way of life 150 years ago.

This summer the Hardanger and Voss Museum will show a representative collection of Knudsen´s photographs in an exhibition made by Skule Eriksen and Lisbeth Dreyer. The exhibition covers central themes in Knudsen´s photos, and is in three parts; The Mountains, The Fjords and The Coast. The exhibition is supported by the Norwegian Arts Council.
